Certified Authentic Wade Boggs proved he was one of baseball's most consistent hitters. Boggs posted seven consecutive 200-plus hit seasons from 1983 through 1989. In 14 of his 15 Major League seasons, he hit over .300 and captured the A.L. Batting Champion crown six times. Boggs didn't want to become known as a one-dimensional offensive player, so he took it upon himself to improve his defensive skills. His extra work paid off when he earned 11 consecutive All-Star Game starts, setting a record for American League third basemen (1986-1996). He also led A.L. third basemen in fielding percentage in 1993 (.970) and in 1995 (.981). Although his fielding was superb, Boggs will always be remembered for his hitting. Wade Boggs connected on his 3,000 hit with a home run against Cleveland on August 7, 1999. His only World Championship was with the Yankees in 1996. The notarized affidavit records the date and location of the signing and also details the items that were signed by the specified athlete. This document is then secured within the Steiner Sports main offices. Once the hand-signed collectible has passed the steps listed above, a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is created for the collectible. The collectible is then sealed and stored within our main office and is not handled until it is delivered to a sports collectible enthusiast. COA FEATURES Steiner Sports provides a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) that is the size of a credit card and made of durable plastic. It carries text that reads, "This certificate is your assurance that the enclosed item of sports memorabilia has been personally signed by the state sports celebrity/celebrities. The authenticity of the signature(s) is unconditionally guaranteed by Steiner Sports Memorabilia, Inc." It also bears the Steiner logo, a facsimile signature of Steiner Sports President Brandon Steiner, and on the reverse includes a hologram specific to the product as well as a description of the item and a corresponding bar code.
