Posting an amazing record of 14-2, the Giants would storm through the playoffs, en route to the team’s first championship game since 1963. In the big game against Denver, Simms was masterful. With Denver leading 10-9 in the third quarter, Simms marched his team on a 63 yard scoring drive that culminated with a 13 yard touchdown pass to inspirational tight end, Mark Bavaro. After snaring the ball in the end-zone, Bavaro knelt down on a knee, as if to be giving thanks to be part of this special moment.
