The 2012 MLB Season is well underway and already we have seen some exciting events. We have witnessed not one, but two no-hitters thus far. Well one no hitter and one perfect game, but who is complaining about that. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Jered Weavertossed a no-no against the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber threw a perfecto against the Seattle Mariners. But the season is still in the early stages and there are more developments around the league. In the AL East, the long dormant Baltimore Oriolesare looking to make a change this year. Led by young players like Adam Jones and Matt Wieters, the Orioles are off to a hot start leading the division. Former power house teams like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are off to slow starts, but it’s early in the season and anything can happen. Just like the Orioles, the Cleveland Indians are an up and coming team that leads their division. Look out this year for the tribe as they have a core of young players to lead them such as Carlos SantanaChris Perez and Justin Masterson. Out west, the Texas Rangers are proving why they won the AL Pennant two years in a row as they are dominating the standings. The Los Angeles Angels on the other hand are pretty cold at the moment, even though they signed the most coveted free agent last season in Albert Pujols. In the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals are staying afloat in the NL Central after losing Albert Pujols. The Milwaukee Brewers on the other hand are feeling the effects of losing their powerful first baseman too in Prince Fielder. In the NL East, the young and upcoming Washington Nationalsweren’t picked to make any waves this year, but that has all changed. Led by a young crop of players in Stephen StarsburgRyan Zimmerman and Bryce Harper, the Nationals are neck and neck with the Atlanta Braves for sole position of first place. Keep your eye on the diamond all season and cheer on your favorite team with a little help from our MLB Fan Store.
