The St. Louis Hawks became the Atlanta Hawks in 1969 and during that span, they have made the Eastern Conference playoffs nearly 30 times. The Hawks last won an NBA championship in 1958 when they were still known as the St. Louis Hawks. However, the closest they have been to a title in Atlanta is the conference semifinals, which they have advanced to 14 times, with the most recent trip resulting in a defeat to the Chicago Bulls in the 2010-11 conference semis.
