The undefeated Tennessee Volunteers came into the 1999 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to face the Florida State Seminoles looking for their first National Championship in nearly five decades and a measure of respect. The Volunteers came away with both as they beat the favored Seminoles 23-16 to win the school's first National Championship since 1951. Tennessee Volunteers capped a perfect 13 - 0 season! It was the Volunteers first national championship in 47 years! MVP Peerless Price caught four passes for 199 yards. He scored in the fourth quarter on a 79-yard pass reception Officially licensed.
